  • My instruments include a Kanstul Signature 1525 flugelhorn, Calicchio hand-made Bb trumpet, Shires C trumpet, Schilke P5-4 piccolo trumpet, Yamaha 675 soprano sax, Powell soprano flute, Emerson alto flute, Jenco vibraphone, Yamaha WX5 Wind Controller with VL70 synth, and a Selmer Mark VI tenor sax.

Tascam FW-1884 Audio Interface and Control Surface The heart of the studio: the Tascam FW-1884 Audio Interface and Control Surface. This supports audio, MIDI, ADAT and SP/DIF digital, with three banks of eight 100mm faders used for mixing multitrack sessions. It also controls the transport for SONAR, along with my Frontier Design Tranzport for remote control.

Shure KSM-44 Studio Condenser Mic Shure SM-81 Studio Condenser Mic Rode NT1A Studio Condenser Mic Beyerdynamic M 160 Studio Ribbon Mic The most important part of any studio for recording is the microphones (see full list in Hardware, above). In addition to these Shure and Rode condensers, I use a Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon mic with a UA 710 pre.

Mackie 624 Monitors Allesandro (open ear) Headphones SONY (closed ear) Headphones I use Mackie 634 Studio Monitors in the control room, KRK V8s in the playback room, Alessandro One headphones (open ear) in the control room, and SONY 7506 and 7509 closed-ear cans for tracking in the studio.
